So as much as I hate to admit it, I’ve never really been a book worm. My sister and co-blogger Melissa is though (read about her love for reading HERE). But since having my son I instantly started loving reading books to him and see so much value in reading to your child daily. There are countless baby books to choose from and honestly most that I’ve read are good, but there are a few that stand out above the rest. I’ve decided to share my 3 must-have baby books that my son loves and wants me to read to him over and over.

I’ve found that my baby gets bored when I read him books with too much text. My husband and I discovered that books with a pop up, textured picture, or peek-a-boo flap are so great for keeping a babies attention.

In no particular order, here are my 3 must-have baby books:

1.“Oh Baby Go Baby”

This is a such fun book with an inspiring message! “Oh Baby Go Baby” is filled with foil, feathers, flaps, slide tabs which makes it very interactive for your little one. My baby is quite aggressive and has actually ripped some of the pieces out of the book, but we love it so much that we plan to buy a new one!

2. “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” (slide & find version)

I’m recommending the slide and find version of this classic book because it features sliding windows in the corner of each page which really keep your baby entertained. We have the regular version of this book (in English & Spanish!) and it is also great, but this version is fun for when your baby gets a little older and can slide the windows open & closed himself.

3.“Baby Touch and Feel: Colors and Shapes”

There are many “Baby Touch and Feel” books that range from being about animals to trucks to Christmas. We have a few of these books and although my baby loves them all, his favorite is the “Colors and Shapes” one that his great grandma gave him when he was born . He loves running his finger over the different textures, and we spend lots of time on each page until he eventually flips the page himself to discover the next texture. These are great sensory books and the different “Baby Touch and Feel” books have twinkly, bumpy, scaly, silky, sandy, sticky and shiny textures to keep your baby engaged.

There are so many amazing baby and children’s books out there, but these are the one’s that have really helped my husband and I bond with our baby during story time. I love finding new baby books and will be sure to share when I find more must-haves!
