The baby size at 8 weeks pregnant is about 1/2 an inch long and is the size of a raspberry. Your baby’s facial feature are forming this week- the lips, nose and eyelids are all visible at this point. Some other exciting things happening with your baby this week are his “tail” is just about gone and he’s starting to look more human and less “alien-like”.
It’s normal to feel fatigued and sluggish at this point in your pregnancy. Nausea and vomiting may still be happening for some pregnant women, and you might even need to invest in a new bra since it’s common to go up a few cup sizes.
This week is a very special one in your pregnancy, because when you’re 8 weeks pregnant is when most doctors recommend you come in for your first ultrasound. There is nothing quite like seeing your baby for the first time! It make all the sickness well worth it to see that little raspberry–I mean baby, inside your tummy. 🙂
