My pregnant friend recently told me she was advised by a nurse to rub a wash cloth on her nipples every time she’s in the shower to prepare for the discomfort of breastfeeding. I immediately laughed when she told me this and said “I would recommend using sand paper instead”. But for reals, nursing hurts. really. freaking. bad.

I was warned about the pain of nursing, but yet somehow I was still so unprepared. The only way I was prepared was that I had previously purchased a nursing bra. At about 7 months pregnant my regular bras were all SO tight. This happens to most women because in addition to the hormones making your cup size larger, your ribcage also expands to allow you to take more oxygen into your lungs for yourself and your baby.

So I decided it was time to head to Motherhood to get a bra that didn’t squeeze me to death. I about died when I got fit and had gone from a 34 band size to a 38! Anyway I was recommended this seamless clip-down nursing bra and it was love at first try-on!

Here is why this seamless clip-down nursing bra is the BEST NURSING BRA:

  • It’s seamless. Enough said.
  • Easy to un-clip one handed.
  • The back closure band is very thick, thus eliminating “back fat”.
  • Removable cups (I always remove the cups).
  • Very affordable at only $24.98.
  • Comes in 6 colors.
  • Machine washable.
  • SO COMFORTABLE (the most important reason!).

I would recommend purchasing this bra in 2 sizes. One larger size for your last few months of pregnancy/first few months postpartum, and one smaller size for a few months postpartum and on. Due to the initial discomfort of nursing, I was glad I had a larger size while I was getting the hang of things the first few weeks, because the last thing you want is a something tight on your tender, overworked breasts.

So there you have it, the best nursing bra! And if you need more convincing, just read the customer reviews…nearly every women is raving about this bra just as much as I am!

Oh, I so needed this post!! After two babies I still haven’t found a nursing bra that I love. I’m excited to try this one with baby #3. So do you recommend going to get measured in store?

    • Ashley says:

So this bra actually just comes in sizes small, medium & large, so you don’t really have to get measured for that! 🙂 They run true to size. Good luck!
