DISNEY’S AULANI RESORT…AND A LITTLE SOMETHING ELSE

If you follow us on Instagram, you know that Ashley and I took a dreamy family vacation to Hawaii in May.  (Find my tips on flying with toddlers here.)  We stayed at Disney’s Aulani Resort, a perfect choice for families with babies and kids.  It’s located in Ko Olina on Oahu and our 8 day stay was just the right amount of time to enjoy the resort and a couple of days around the beautiful island.  (Oahu holds a special place in my heart because of the semester exchange I did at a university there in my college days.)  Aulani resort includes splash pads, kids pools, adult pools, on-site restaurants, a private lagoon, outdoor movie nights, a gorgeous spa and so much more! One of my favorite parts about Aulani is Auntie’s Beach House, an included “babysitting” service that provides hours of fun for kids throughout the day.  Kids can be dropped off and picked up at any time during their hours of operation.  My kids never wanted to leave Auntie’s Beach House so I was able to sneak in a little adult time.  Here are a few highlights from our trip.  And make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom for my favorite photo of the trip!

This was our beautiful view every day from the pool chairs.  Chairs are somewhat scarce here, but luckily my wonderful momma got up early every morning and staked out the perfect spot. (Aren’t moms just the best?!)

When my oldest asked why Mickey and Minnie were in Hawaii instead of Disneyland I just assured her that they were on vacation too!

Josie loved her spa day almost as much as I loved mine.  Aulani’s world renowned spa is a must!

We loved paddleboarding, kayaking, sitting on the beach and splashing around in the mild waves at the private lagoon! (See a reivew on this suit here.)

And my favorite part about our trip was finding out that we are expecting!  Our #3 is due January 23rd and we couldn’t be more excited.  I can’t wait to share my story of how I found out I was pregnant in Hawaii and how I told my hubby and family.  Stay tuned for those details 🙂
