Pregnancy Announcement!

Welcome to my new blog, Mommy Status! I am so excited to have this space on the internet where I can share my thoughts, feelings, pictures, and life in general on all things mommy. So…it’s true, my husband and I are having a baby! I am just as excited/nervous as I’m sure any other mother-to-be is. I will share all of my experiences and initial thoughts on being pregnant, how I told my husband and family, how I’ve been feeling, ect. in future posts, but today I wanted to share these fun photo’s that my darling brother-in-law took for us earlier this week to announce our pregnancy to the world.

I had seen these giant gold letter balloons floating around {get it?} on the internet and thought they were just the cutest things ever! I was thinking about using them to reveal the gender and either spell out “boy” or “girl” but I think I got a little antsy so I decided to spell out “baby” so I didn’t have to wait another month to find out the gender to be able to use them.

I do have to say that Pinterest makes projects look one hundred thousand times easier {most of the time} than they actually are, and this balloon photo shoot was no exception. Taking these balloons to get inflated, then carrying them to my car and putting them in my car in the wind praying for dear life that they weren’t going to blow away, then trying to get them to face the right way during the photo shoot were just a few of the challenges I ran into. But, I am so happy to have these photos and I will always remember this joyous, calm time of life before all the madness begins and I am officially “mommy status”.

  • Congratulations! Love how the pics turned out. I know all about pinterest fails. My husband and I decided to take our engagement photos at a local landmark. Which happens to be on a high cliff by the ocean. All of the pictures showed me with my long hair in my mouth. 🙂

  • Love these photos and I’m thinking of doing this exact same thing for my announcement in february! Do you have any suggestions on how to take these photos? Maybe propping up the balloons the right way or taping them on the cement? I was thinking a solution could be to tape them or prop them the right way close to the groud (like you guys did in one photo) and having my husband and i hold “O” and “H” and it could say OH BABY? that way if the o and h twist they would be the same? hmmm not sure lol Congrats on your little babe! I will be sure to follow along now that i found you!

    • Yeah your biggest problem will be the wind blowing the letters all over the place if you hold them. I probably wouldn’t add the “oh” if I were you because there will just be too many letters to try and control! My husband and I had a hard enough time controlling just 4. Good luck and post a link to your picture when you do this, I would love to see it! xo
