BUMPDATE / 21 WEEKS

bumpdate 21 weeks, 21 weeks pregnant, 2nd trimester

How far along: 21 weeks.

Size of baby: Banana (12.7 ounces).

Must have items:

Sleep: I had a lighter work week and I definitely took advantage of that by sleeping A LOT! I have been sleeping great, especially with the help of  my new Bump Nest pregnancy pillow!

Cravings: I was actually craving a lot of water this week, which is about the healthiest craving you can get, so it was a nice change! I buy the cases of water at Costco and go through at least 3 bottles a day, usually more.

Baby movement: I felt him move so much this past week! It’s not the most comfortable feeling, mostly feels like gas bubbles, but I love the reassurance that he is still in there movin’ and groovin’!

Gender: It’s a BOY (see gender reveal announcement HERE)! Haven’t bought him anything yet though, because I always find myself gravitating toward the baby girl clothes….oops!

Challenges this week: Getting called to JURY DUTY! I thought it was a joke when I got the summons in the mail, and thought there is no way I would actually get called because I responded to the summons stating that I was pregnant, hormonal, irrational, moody, ect. (of course exaggerating as much as possible!), but I still got called. I was so bummed because I had a tennis match that afternoon that I was going to have to forfeit. After checking in for jury duty (about an hour late of course), I went and joined the rest of the group where they were finishing up an introductory video. After the video, they told us they would be separating us into groups and taking us up to the courtrooms.  They called the first and second groups by name, which I was not in, and then they told everyone remaining they were in the third group. We went upstairs and then they called groups of 5 by name and took them into the courtroom. Finally there were only 6 of us left, and he called the other 5 peoples names, but not mine. He said “I don’t know why you aren’t on our list, go back down to the jury room”. I was so annoyed that I had to go all the way back down just to figure out what was going on and the whole time I was thinking about how I was going to miss my tennis match, and how this was such a stupid waste of time, but then a miracle happened. Which brings me to the best moment this week…

Best moment this week: …I told the lady at the jury desk that I had been sent back down because my name wasn’t on the list. She was all upset because she said they had made a mistake and told me to wait a minute while she figured it out. While she was emailing someone I thought I would just let her know that I was pregnant and nauseous (the nauseous part was not entirely true, but hey it was worth a shot right?) and if she wanted to just let me go home I wouldn’t be mad. She looked at me and said ” oh I know how that is, I think I’ll just send you home”. She said she would report that I had completed my duty and my name wouldn’t go into the pool again for 2 years. I almost couldn’t believe my ears, but thanked her many times and went home and got ready for my tennis match, which I WON! Not sure how I pulled that one off, but it was definitely the best moment of the week!
